Tuesday May 16th

NCCASA is pleased to again offer four Pre-Conference Institutes!  These Institutes are a conscious effort to intensively address the emerging issues of:

Human Trafficking

Title IX in K – 12 Schools
Exploring Alternate Healing Modalities
Investing in Advocates
(this is only open to advocates who have worked in the field for one to three years.  We will be offering twelve scholarships to advocates who are interested in attending this.  Information coming next week about these scholarships!)

The Pre-Conference Institutes will be held on Tuesday May 16th from 9:30am – 4:30pm with registration from 8:30am – 9:30am and a 1 ½ hour lunch break (on your own).
Please note that the Pre-Conference Institutes are designed for attendees to spend the entire day in one Institute.  For people with allergies or a fear of dogs please note that the Exploring Alternate Healing Modalities will have therapy dogs present from 2:30pm – 4:30pm.

For attendees arriving on Tuesday evening we will have conference registration from 4:00pm – 6:00pm.

 


Wednesday May 17th

Our “From Premise to Practice: Applying a Comprehensive Trauma Lens” conference will begin on Wednesday May 17th at 9:00am with registration from 8:00am – 9:00am.  We will open the conference with a plenary address from Lynn Rosenthal and close the day with hearing from youth who have participated in NCCASA’s Young Advocates Institute.  In between these two exciting spaces we will have two workshop series where you can self select which workshop you would like to attend.  Our Spring 2017 Member Meeting will take place Wednesday afternoon from 4:30pm – 5:30pm and then please join us in Bayberry Bistro for a social with live music, appetizers and conference attendees.

 


Thursday May 18th

Thursday May 18th will begin at 9:00am with two workshop series where again you can self select which workshop interests you the most.  After lunch we will be hearing from four innovative Just Beginnings Collaborative fellows who will each present on their unique approach to ending child sexual abuse.  This is not something to be missed and within the next week we’ll announce who the fellows are!
