Job Title: Duplin County DV/SA Coordinator

General Description

The primary responsibility of the Duplin County DV/SA Coordinator is to provide Duplin County with onsite service in domestic violence/sexual abuse. These services include but are not limited to shelter (utilizing the Lenoir County/surrounding Counties like Onslow, Sampson, Wayne shelters), victim advocacy, court advocacy, community outreach, professional trainings, victim transportation, support/empowerment group services, volunteer recruitment and any other services directly related to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. This position seeks individual with a Bachler’s degree in Human Services, (Social Work, Applied Sociology, and other human services areas) put will consider individuals with experience/educational background.  Applicants that are bilingual and live within the Duplin County area are preferred.  This position will report to the Executive Director.  Please submit your resume to the Executive Director, at sproctorsafe@yahoo.com by the end of business April 3, 2018.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide services to domestic violence cases in Duplin County
  2. Provide services to sexual abuse cases in Duplin County
  3. Assist victims with domestic violence protective orders
  4. Assist victims with 50-C when needed
  5. Act as a court advocate for all domestic violence and sexual assault victims
  6. Keep accurate note and statistic on all victims served in Duplin County
  7. Maintain monthly reports on all clients
  8. Prepare six-month DOA report in a timely fashion due by the 20th of January and July each year.
  9. Work with Duplin DSS on Work First clients/victims of abuse as well as other issues relating to victim  services
  1. Work with Duplin DSS on CPS cases that involve domestic/sexual abuse
  2. Provide assistances to all clients by preparing an Advocates recommended treatment/referral resource plan
  1. Provide community education and in-service training to professionals in Duplin County
  2. Attend public functions and participate in community activities to promote SAFE
  3. Provide assistance as needed when in the home office

CrossRoads was established in 1976 as a standalone sexual assault center serving adult victims of sexual violence. In 1994, we realized that child victims needed the same types of services as adult victims. CrossRoads formed a multi-disciplinary team that began research and development of a Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) and in 1996 our CAC was opened. Today we serve adult victims of sexual violence and child victims of abuse and neglect

Position

Primary Function: Welcome clients and outside agency partners by greeting them, in person or on the telephone and answering or referring inquiries. Provide clients with necessary paperwork and assist clients, when needed. Maintain security by following agency procedures and provide support services to the advocates, therapists, and doctors that work within the center.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Answer telephones
  2. Welcome clients and supervise the lobby area; including maintaining a clean and safe reception area
  3. Provide supervision and interaction with children and supportive caregivers
  4. Make resources and materials needed to complete services available to clients
  5. Assist with process of interviewing victims of sexual assault or child abuse and neglect
  6. Provide support to doctors, therapists, and advocates, particularly involving Spanish speaking clients

Job Title: ELDER ABUSE SERVICES COORDINATOR

The FJC provides one-stop services for victims of abuse, neglect and exploitation, including older adults experiencing abuse in later life. The FJC model uses a three pronged approach to address issues of Intimate Partner and Family Violence by connecting law enforcement, prosecution, victim services, community and social service programs in one location.

The Family Justice Center of Alamance County is in search of an Elder Abuse Services Coordinator. The primary purpose of this position is the coordination and provision of direct client services on-site at the Family Justice Center and at specified community-based locations.  This position works closely with FJC partners (including law enforcement, the courts, adult protective services, victim services and senior network services providers) in order to help older victims of intimate partner violence and elder abuse access and utilize the full range of services available at the FJC and in the community.

Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities:

Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices and their application to individual casework, group work, community problems, and advocacy. Experience working with victims of domestic violence, victims of sexual assault, and victims of elder abuse is strongly preferred. Strong skills in problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution are required. An ability to work effectively, efficiently under high pressure circumstances and manage crisis and emergency situations is required. Knowledge of best practices relating to family violence which includes identification, victim safety, confidentiality and offender accountability is required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be receptive to new ideas. Must be professional and responsible about all aspects of work. Must possess an ability to assess situations both within and outside the client system and determine priorities. Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in a human services field such as social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in social work, counseling, preferably with the client population; or bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in counseling or a related human services field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work, or community organization; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience working with older adults and victims of intimate partner violence preferred. Bilingual preferred.

Job Title: Immigrant Outreach Specialist

Agency: Durham Crisis Response Center  

 

DCRC is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Immigrant Outreach Specialist to inform the Spanish-speaking community about its services and resources regarding domestic violence and sexual assault. The Immigrant Outreach Specialist will be responsible for providing outreach to the Latinx immigrant community, supporting the immigrant services team, assisting with other Durham Crisis Response Center programs, and maintaining programming statistics.
