Human Trafficking Resource Center – the National Human Trafficking Resource Center and is operated by Polaris Project. It’s a national, 24/7 hotline that can be reached by calling (888)373-7888. The Resource Center provides callers with comprehensive services, including crisis intervention, urgent and non-urgent referrals for services, tip reporting, information on human trafficking and technical assistance for the anti-trafficking field. The Resource Center strives to connect callers with contacts, referrals and resources in their local area. To do this, the Center maintains an up-to-date national database of over 3000 referral sources and first responders.
International Association of Chiefs of Police – September 2010 released an updated Model Policy on Response to Victims of Crime. The policy incorporates recognizing and responding to the needs of crime victims, supporting and assisting victims, and acting as a liaison to appropriate victim assistance and service agencies. The IACP also released an updated Concepts and Issues Paper providing background and support on the developmental philosophy and implementation requirements of the model policy.
