North Carolina Sexual Violence Prevention Plan
This is a public version of the North Carolina Sexual Violence Prevention Plan. The plan is a project of the Statewide Sexual Violence Prevention Team comprised of over twenty people from around the state. It serves as a roadmap to prevent and effectively end sexual violence in NC. This roadmap is the culmination of a six-year Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-funded project called EMPOWER (Enhancing and Making Programs and Outcomes Work to End Rape), funding that NC was one of only six states to receive.
While the EMPOWER project has come to a close, the state team that was born out of the project continues to function as the advisory committee for the state’s sexual violence primary prevention infrastructure.
